Dicitas Consulting is founded by Rufus Udo and Martin Hermsen, both with an extensive track record in large scale and complex business transformations.

Rufus Udo

Rufus is founding partner at Dicitas Consulting and responsible for the Transformation practice. He has more than 20 years of experience in defining, realizing and managing complex business transformation programs for multinational clients. Rufus studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Technology in Delft. Prior to founding Dicitas Consulting, Rufus spent the majority of his career at Accenture, nine years of which as an Executive Partner, leading a part of the Dutch practice.

His areas of expertise include digital and business transformation, business process redesign, technology implementation, organizational design and transformation management.

During his career, Rufus worked for clients in the Automotive, Industrial Products, Consumer Products, Construction and Food industries. Clients included: ABN AMRO, Amgen, ASML, Baxter, BP, Boskalis, Cargill, CFS, DAF Trucks, Daimler Chrysler, Goodyear, Mediq, Mitsubishi, Office Depot, Pon, Quaker Oats, Staples, Smiths Food group, Sara Lee, Solvay, Volker Wessels, Wavin and Wessanen.

Recently Rufus focused on helping smaller consulting companies with their innovation process and supporting young, innovative technology companies in making their next steps. The combined experience in business transformation, innovation and business development forms the basis of Dicitas Consulting.


Martin Hermsen

Martin is founding partner at Dicitas Consulting and is responsible for the Customer & Channel Innovation practice. He has over 20 years of consulting experience in growth & competitive strategy, product innovation, marketing and customer management. Martin studied Information Engineering at the University of Amsterdam, and received his MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus Graduate School of Business.

His areas of expertise include Strategy, Digital Strategy & Innovation, Marketing and Sales, Social Media, Marketing Automation and Business Process Design. Martin worked five years in the US, consulting to large US based organizations. He is specialised in transformational program management for large global organizations, restructuring, workforce transformation, process re-engineering and technology enablement. Prior to Dicitas Consulting Martin worked for Accenture, managing their Benelux CRM practice, Gemini Consulting and BearingPoint.

Over the years Martin consulted at organizations like ABN AMRO, Air France KLM, MSD Organon, Astra Zeneca, BHP Billiton, Bridgestone Firestone, Ford Motor Company, Heineken, ING Bank, KPN (Royal Dutch Telecom), Novartis, Pfizer, Philips Consumer Electronics, Medical Systems, Lighting, Procter & Gamble Europe and US, Reed Elsevier, SITA (Suez-GDF), Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts, TUI travel company, Unilever, Vodafone, VOPAK, Volkswagen and Yamaha Motor.

Martin also has experience with Competitive strategy, Go to market strategy, market analysis, market segmentation, marketing and sales strategy, customer needs analysis, customer experience design, brand management, yield management and dynamic pricing strategies, revenue Management, web channel development, customer relationship management, internet database marketing and campaign management, customer loyalty program development, social media and digital transformation.


Davy Verhulst

Davy has a broad interest and natural curiosity pushing him each time to drive for excellence in every stage of his professional career.

Davy has over 15 years of experience from very different domains of all sizes of companies. He has experience with marketing, sales, procurement, finance and business development, with a foundation in analytical-, communication and project management skills. Before Dicitas Davy spent the larger parts of his career at Accenture, focusing on CRM & Mareketing, as well as at The House of Marketing and Anheuser-Busch InBev.

His areas of expertise include Digital Transformation, Business Modelling; Business Development, BigData Marketing, Social Media, Team building, Strategy definition & Marketing positioning, Budget and spend management, Trade Marketing Excellence, Online Marketing & Social Media, Commercial partnerships, Project management, Process re-engineering and Commercial Procurement.

Davy has experience consulting organizations like Telenet, StarBev, Goodyear, Mobistar, Electrolux, Bacardi-Martini, Campina, Masterfoods, Gilette, UPC, KLM, Matasushita, Callebaut, BGL and Winbox to mention a few.


Carel Hoytema van Konijnenburg

Carel is associate partner at Dicitas Consulting and is responsible for the Operational Excellence practice. He studied hospitality management and has a Master of science from Nyenrode University.

As an experienced management consultant, Carel has specialised in the area of business process optimization and business transformation. Together with his practice, he is advising and supporting large multinational companies in the design, set-up and execution of large improvement and transformation programs, to align and improve the performance of their operations to (better) support their (new) strategies. The aim is to create agile organizations, able to cope with the fast changing customer and consumer demand in this digital era. His pre-consulting background is in the FMCG industry.

During his consulting career, Carel has advised and supported large multinational companies like Shell, Heineken Nederland, Heineken International, L’Oreal, FrieslandCampina, SNS Reaal ,SITA NEWS, DSM and Nuon.
